With a master’s degree in Wildlife Filmmaking, achieved in partnership with the BBC Natural History Unit, and extensive experience in the Wildlife TV industry, Alice has a proven track record of bringing impactful stories to life. Her most recent documentary, Finally I Sea, sheds light on the startling fact that 1 in 5 children in the UK have never seen the sea, advocating for greater access to wild spaces for all children. Alice’s deep-rooted passion for impact-driven narratives continues to fuel her mission to create stories that resonate, inspire, and drive meaningful action for the planet.

THE MISSION

ACCESS TO NATURE

Finally I Sea shines a light on a fundamental but often overlooked truth: access to nature - and especially the ocean - is a human right, not a luxury. For many children growing up in cities like London, financial barriers mean they may never experience wild spaces that are vital for mental health, joy, and a sense of belonging. Finally I Sea advocates for a future where every child, regardless of background, can feel the sand between their toes, breathe salty air, and connect with the natural world. It’s a call to action for equitable access to the outdoors - for wellbeing, for wonder, and for the right to simply be free.

IMPACT

Finally I Sea is opening eyes to a deeply uncomfortable truth: millions of children in the UK grow up without ever experiencing the sea. By following one girl’s long-awaited first encounter with the ocean, the film gives a human face to a much wider issue - one of access, equity, and belonging in nature.

Through its festival run, Finally I Sea is engaging audiences with the confronting reality that for many families, wild spaces are not easily within reach. Screenings are designed not only to move viewers emotionally, but to spark conversations around environmental justice and nature access as a public health and social equity issue.

To deepen its reach, the film has partnered with Dryrobe, Keep Britain Tidy, and Ocean Culture Life — organizations committed to advocating for cleaner coasts, inclusive outdoor culture, and systemic change. These partnerships are helping to amplify the message that time in nature isn’t a privilege — it’s a basic human need that should be available to all, especially children.

As the film continues to reach new audiences, it serves as a rallying cry: to break down barriers, open up shorelines, and ensure that every child, no matter their background, has the chance to feel the freedom of the sea.
